Ovacik to Faralya
After a short transfer (15m) to Ovacik, the official start point of the Lycian Way, begin your walk to the Faralya in its spectacular location at the top of the Butterfly Valley.
An ascent over the western end of the Baba Dag mountain range will take you to the traditional village of Kirme with terraced rice fields, where locals harvest olives and keep goats and cattle. From here, continue down a deep valley to Faralya.
Enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal at your hotel whilst admiring a beautiful sunset over the valley is sure to be one of the most memorable moments of your trip.

You walk through pine forest and will quite likely be walking fairly close to beehives – the production of pine honey is a mainstay of the economy here. Bees usually ignore humans and will leave you alone, but be careful if the hive owners are smoking the hives to collect the honey. It is unlikely this will happen but if you do see it, keep your distance and walk as swiftly as possible past the area (even taking a detour off the path/track if necessary).Start

These maps and routes are designed to be used in conjunction with our traditional documentation. We have recently embarked on a conversion initiative to bring the two elements together, and this itinerary will be covered in due course.
In the meantime, using the two elements alongside each other should go a long way to ensure you have a safe, enjoyable and problem free day.
