Buckden Pike Memorial Cross to Polish Bomber Crew

This memorial is in remembrance to the memory of five Polish airmen of the Polish Air Force based at RAF Bramcote who crashed their plane on 30 January 1942. The memorial was created by, with help from various locals. The sole survivor of the crash Jozef "Joe" Fusniak survived by finding his way to a road near Cray where some locals found him and took him to the White Lion Inn.
