Walk through the rolling scenery of the Scottish Borders which offers a touch of Roman history. Leaving St Boswells you follow the River Tweed once more before diverting away from it just before the hamlet of Maxton. After a short section of minor road you then join Dere Street, an ancient Roman Road before reaching your destination.
