From North Queensferry, the trail leads past Deep Sea World to the Carlingnose Wildlife Reserve. You then pass through the town of Inverkeithing and hug the coastline up to St Davids Harbour and Downing Point. Great panoramic views can be captured from here and look out for the historic gun emplacements. The path continues past the ruins of St Bridget’s Kirk into Aberdour and then up through the Blue Flag beaches of Burntisland. Please note this route was updated slightly on 24-June-2021 - to re-route the path (taking the diversion) around a damaged bridge at Aberdour.

Sturdy hiking boots, warm clothes and a waterproof/wind-break layer are all required. The weather can change quickly so be sure to take all equipment even if the weather looks OK. A waterproof cover for your rucksack is also useful.
Ensure your phone is fully charged; if you doubt the battery will last throughout the hike, it would be beneficial to bring a power bank.
