From the coast at North Berwick walk inland towards the conical hill of Berwick Law, and continue south to the little village of East Linton before heading east again to Dunbar.
Heading south again, you can take an optional detour to climb to the top of 147 m high Berwick Law (the views over Edinburgh and Arthur’s Seat to Tantallon Castle are worth it on a clear day). On this final day of walking you’ll be on country tracks and quiet inland roads that lead first to East Linton then onto the John Muir Country Park. Walk through landscapes close to where John Muir spent his early years, enjoy the wild beaches and crashing waves as you trace the path high along the cliff-tops then descend to Dunbar and John Muir’s Birthplace Museum, marking the finish of The John Muir Way in Dunbar town centre.
