As you arrive into Tyndrum, be careful crossing the main road. Tyndrum is a popular stop for drivers (including motor cyclists and lorries) and can be a busy place.
From Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy you will walk along old military roads and alongside The West Highland Railway Line. Walking on the military road in this section can be tough on your knees and feet so take your time and enjoy your magnificent surroundings. There is little shelter for this section make sure you are prepared for all weathers. Carry a waterproof and some sun cream.

Re-stock on cash and supplies: Tyndrum is a fairly busy little hub with lots of walkers and drivers stopping on their journey north/south. You can stock up on snacks and supplies at Brodies or the Green Welly shop. There is also a cash machine at Green Welly, although they do charge per use. There is also an outdoor equipment section in Green Welly if you need to stock-up on midge repellent.
If walking the West Highland Way Tyndrum will be your last chance to stock up on cash and supplies before reaching Kinlochleven.

Sturdy hiking boots, warm clothes and a waterproof/wind-break layer are all required. The weather can change quickly so be sure to take all equipment even if the weather looks okay. A waterproof cover for your rucksack is also useful.
Ensure your phone is fully charged; if you doubt the battery will last throughout the hike, it would be beneficial to bring a power bank.
