From the bustling port of Mgarr the 20 minute ferry journey offers sea views of the rough shoreline of Gozo & Comino. Arrive at the Blue Lagoon and walk towards the Comino Tower with fine views of Cominotto, the minor islands and caves. The route towards the old Redoubt, complete with cannon guarding the South Comino Channel, cuts through unspoiled areas of native flora through the Island's central valley to the beach at Santa Marja Bay before you return to the Blue Lagoon. The ferry then brings you back to Mgarr, and from here you can either take a bus back to Xaghra, or a taxi which normally costs under €20 https://www.publictransport.com.mt/.

Great hike, but it is not possible to take the short cut after the Lady's Chapel/Santa Maria Bay, direction North, because it's private property now. You'll have to go to Triq Kemmunetti, and then you'll be at the blue lagoon again. thanks for recording this nice hike!
