At first following the River Arga, today’s walk then starts to get slightly busier as you head towards Pamplona. Famous for the running of the bulls festival, Pamplona is a beautiful city lined with medieval streets, and a tasty meal can be enjoyed in the main square, Plaza del Castillo.

At first following the River Arga along shaded paths, today’s walk then starts to get slightly busier as you head towards Pamplona as you follows busy main roads into the city.

Pamplona is a beautiful city lined with medieval streets and famous for the running of the bulls festival which takes place one a year where daring men and women tear through the streets chased by bulls. Be prepared to enter a hustling and bustling city, quite the opposite to the Camino.

Thunder, lightning, gentle rain turned into constant heavier showers. No probs we were told, “summer shower”. Should be sunny by Pamplona. Fantastic must over the valleys and plenty of puddles to splash through. Good temperature for trekking and pleasant sounds of river and rapids. Very good coffee & cake in Villava after 2 1/2 hrs. Just over 3 1/2 hrs total & we’re in our hotel in Iruña. Tapas & coffee✔️

Pretty easy hike today to Pamplona. Mid day sun wasn’t too bad and the river views and sounds made it nice. Trek through the city was decent. Hustle and bustle of a big city and far from solitude.
