From Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy you will walk along old military roads and alongside The West Highland Railway Line. Walking on the military road in this section can be tough on your knees and feet so take your time and enjoy your magnificent surroundings. There is little shelter for this section make sure you are prepared for all weathers. Carry a waterproof and some sun cream

Re-stock on cash and supplies
Tyndrum is a fairly busy little hub with lots of walkers and drivers stopping on their journeys. You can stock up on snacks and supplies Brodies or the Green Welly. There is also a cash machine at Green Welly's, although they do charge per use. There is also an outdoor equipment section in Green Welly's if you need any midge repellent.
Tyndrum will be your last chance to stock up on cash and supplies until Kinlochleven.

The West Highland Way is well waymarked, but we strongly suggest that you follow the GPS tracks in the Macs Adventure smartphone app to ensure you have a safe, enjoyable and problem-free day. The daily maps can also be printed from the web version of the app should you wish to take paper copies with you. ***
Rejoin the trail at the junction near Tyndrum Lower train station and follow the West Highland Way thistle signposts north to pass the northern end of Tyndrum. Alternatively, follow the A82 through Tyndrum and at 600 m turn right off the road after passing the Green Welly Stop to pick up the trail here.
Continue to follow the thistle way-markers north on good paths and tracks towards the hamlet of Bridge of Orchy, on your right-hand side you’ll pass Ben Odhar (a Corbett at 901m) and conical Beinn Dorain (a Munro at 1076m). The trail bears left, crosses the railway and arrives at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel.

Equipment
Sturdy hiking boots, warm clothes and a waterproof/wind-break layer are all required. The weather can change quickly so be sure to take all equipment even if the weather looks okay. A waterproof cover for your rucksack is also useful.
Ensure your phone is fully charged; if you doubt the battery will last throughout the hike, it would be beneficial to bring a power bank.
