Your walk today takes you along the unspoilt coastline with secret beaches and lagoons.
Today's walk is indeed a landscape of rare beauty. The trail passes the beaches of Ingrina and Zavial where it is possible to stop at a beach bar and admire the views, and perhaps have a swim and a lunch of fresh seafood.
On arrival in Sagres, the most south western town on the Algarve, you really feel like you are walking to the ends of the earth and where the land, very distinctly, meets the sea. Try to give yourself time to wander around Sagres this afternoon or evening with its picturesque harbour and pretty plaza.

If there are any stretches of road walking and if there is no pavement or grass verge, please take extra care. The general rule is that you walk on the same side of the road as oncoming traffic, in order to avoid having your back directly to oncoming traffic. Be prepared to walk in single file and to stay as close to the side of the road as possible.
There may be sections where you will be walking through fields containing livestock. Be vigilant and respectful of all animals.
Always make sure to stay hydrated and carry plenty of water. It is also advised to wear skin-protecting clothing and use sun cream/screen. We recommend you inquire about the day’s forecasted weather before setting out on your walks. Tips and hints
Points of interest:
Zavial Beach – a sheltered sandy cove in between the cliffs, which is very popular with surfers.
Ingrina Beach – another sheltered, sandy bay with rocks on either side.
Martinhal Beach – located in the bay of Baleeira near Sagres. It’s a shallow bay that extends from Ponta da Atalaia to the west.
Baleeira Beach – next to Sagre’s harbour and the town’s most sheltered beach.
Recommended cafes and restaurants in Sagres:
Mar a Vista – a sea view restaurant above Mareta beach, serving excellent seafood with a catch of the day menu.
A Tasca – another fresh seafood restaurant, located above the harbour with a huge terrace overlooking the ocean.

We recommend wearing hiking boots that are well broken-in, plus rain jacket and waterproof trousers in wet weather, as well as taking sun cream and a hat on nicer days. A power bank and charging cable is worth taking with you, should your phone battery run out during the walk.
