Safety information

You will be walking through fields containing livestock.  Be vigilant and respectful of all animals.

This walk visits remote areas with limited mobile phone coverage.

This route is very exposed and walkers will therefore be unprotected from the elements.

Tips and hints

Make sure to plan your lunch in advance – this route does not pass through a town after the first mile.

Please keep vigilant and read your route notes carefully at the top of High Harker Hill, the third and final peak of the walk - the trails become small and infrequently marked but give you the best outlook on Swaledale as you come off the ridge and back down to the river valley!
