Today you have the option of taking a bus or taxi back to La Visaille in order to complete the section of the trail missed yesterday or you can take it easy by enjoying a rest day in wonderful Courmayeur. In order to get to the start of the trail, you must take a bus or taxi to La Visaille and walk back along the quiet road to Lac Combal. From here you can take the wonderfully scenic‘balcony’ route via Col Checrouit before descending back into Courmayeur.

This walk is unadvisable in poor weather conditions.

In order to avoid the basic accommodation of Rifugio Elisabetta, we have split the day from Les Chapieux/La Ville des Glaciers to Courmayeur into two with an overnight in Courmayeur instead of Elisabetta. If you wish to cover the section from La Visaille to Courmayeur, take a bus or taxi from Courmayeur back to La Visaille and retrace your steps along the road until you reach the TMB official route and turn left to leave the road and follow signs for Col Checrouit.

Best on sunny day. Great views of the mount blanc massif. Best mountain views of the tour du mount blanc. This hike is “optional” but it is not to be missed, especially on a nice day.
