Invermoriston to Drumnadrochit (High Route)
For the most spectacular views over Loch Ness follow the high route of the Great Glen Way to reach Drumnadrochit village.
moderate
Distance 22 km
Leave Invermoriston on a steeply ascending path until you are high above Loch Ness. The path descends before rising again to it's highest point, then drops for approximately 5 miles towards Grotaig. After this point you will follow minor roads into Drumnadrochit for the final 3 miles with a pavement on the last stretch of busier road. A great day's walk ends in Drumnadrochit, famous for its proximity to Urquhart Castle and the popular Loch Ness Monster Experience. You should have enough time to explore at least one of these attractions.
