Safety information

The terrain is a combination of riverside paths, gravel tracks, forest paths and some minor roads. Although the roads and lanes can be quiet it's always best to walk on the right to face any oncoming traffic and make yourself as visible as possible.

There is a steepish ascent to Windy Gap (340m) followed by a steep descent, please take good care, especially in wet and windy conditions.

There is a risk of ticks in the grass. Use insect repellent and check your body on arrival in Glenbeigh.

As you are walking through remote locations along the Kerry Way there will not be any lunch spots or cafes along the way. Make sure to take a packed lunch with you and plenty of water and snacks before setting off. There are various choices for food and drink once you reach Glenbeigh.
