It's time to leave the beautiful music capital of Doolin behind. You start at the Tourist Information Office and your route goes through the village again, passing some craft stores and pubs. You leave the village with a steep ascent up into the countryside of County Clare. Most of the time you will be walking on quiet tarmac roads passing some farms, fields and houses. Later on, the road turns into a gravel path when you walk through the Burren, a landscape full of rocks and fields but you won't find trees here. What you will find are nice views over the Aran Islands and the Atlantic Ocean. You will finish your walk with a descent down to the tiny hamlet of Fanore.

Author’s recommendation

Enjoy the nice walk through the countryside of County Clare. You can find some nice places where you will have really lovely views over the Aran Islands and you can also see the views back to Doolin.

You should definitely try the fish & chips in the O’Donohue’s Pub when you arrive in Fanore. If the weather is nice, you can walk along the beach of Fanore.
