The makings of a real success story, the forest was bought by The Royal Scottish Forestry Society in 1996 with the aim of restoring and regenerating some of Scotland’s native woodland.

Over the following years around 300 hectares of Native Broadleaves and Scots Pine were established. With plans to develop the site further, the Cashel Forest Trust have created three woodland trails giving an insight to into the importance of regenerating Scotland's native woods. There is also a small visitor centre, just a couple hundred metres from the West Highland Way, if you wish to learn more.
