My wife Jean and I are a 61 year old couple from Pennsylvania. We’re experienced hikers who like to take our time and enjoy the scenery. My GPS came up with 14.3 miles for this leg, but we took a side trail to Mugdock Castle (worth doing) and again to the distillery and tour. This was a 7.5 hour day for us. We stayed at Ashbank B&B in Drymen and ate at the Clachin Inn (must do). If you’re early (5ish) you’ll get a seat at Clachin but if you want to eat after 6:00 I’d call and make a reservation. Great first day.
