Walk out of Vallehermoso Valley by way of El Cano, a classic ‘frozen’ lava tube, pass the National Park visitors’ centre then decend on the GR-132 to the coastal village of Agulo.
The first section has a tough ascent on a stony footpath, up to Roque El Cano. Then follow gentler tracks (both surfaced and unsurfaced) to reach the National Park Visitors' Centre (Centro de Visitantes), where you’ll find a wealth of information on the island. Descend steeply to the beach at Agulo where you can take the bus back to Hermigua, or continue walking for another 1-1.5 hrs. This last optional section is 50% on paths and 50% on tarmac.
