Start with a transfer of about 15 minutes out of Samoëns which shortens what would otherwise be a very long day of walking. Starting at the Pont de Nantes, the trail ascends gently intersecting with the road until it leaves the road and enters the Sixt-Passy Nature Reserve. Ascending steadily on a good path, until you reach an open marshy field. The path here flattens out until you reach the Chalets d'Anterne where there are a couple of refuges. The Refuge d'Anterne serves drinks and food, if you want to refuel before tackling the next couple of ascents. From the Chalets, the path becomes rocky and rough, but markers are well placed and bright so it's easy enough to stay on track. Descend gently to the Lac d'Anterne, before ascending again, this time to reach the rocky Col d'Anterne at 2257m, the highest point of your walk so far!

The Col is marked with a large wooden cross and from here, on a clear day, you will have views to the Mont Blanc Massif. From here a 30 minute descent brings you to the Refuge de Moëde d'Anterne, tonight's overnight location.

The descent from the Col d'Anterne to Refuge de Moëde d'Anterne is short but steep, be sure to bring your walking poles!

Weitere Infos und Links

You can buy picnic items for lunch at the boulangerie and supermarket in Samoëns, which I recommend doing the day you arrive in Samoëns. You can get food and drink at the Refuge d'Anterne, and there is a water point there to fill up. Today's walk has considerably less water refill points than previous days, so take plenty of water with you.
