The majority of this route follows coastal path and rocky beaches. Take care on the boulders, especially during or after wet weather, as they could be very slippery. Take note of the high tide times so you can avoid being down by the coast then.Weitere Infos und Links
Points of interest
Lochranza Castle
This 13th century castle enjoys a superb location on a spit of land projecting out into Loch Ranza. As a result it provides a focal point for much of the village of Lochranza as it wraps around the loch, and features in many views of different parts of the village.
Free to visit and open daily from 9:30am to 5:30pm, April to September.

Arran Whisky Distillery
Located on the outskirts of Lochranza, Arran Whisky Distillery is the only working distillery on the island and has been here since 1995. You can take a tour and tasting experience at this award winning producer of proper scotch whisky. The distillery also has a cafe and gift shop - couple of hours here is a good way to spend some time at the end of your walk if you have time.
Open daily from 10am to 5:15pm.
Food & Drink
There's a cosy tearoom in Sannox, but then nothing along the route until you reach Lochranza which has a hotel and sandwich bar just opposite the ferry terminal. There's also a cafe in the Lochranza distillery. Make sure to bring a packed lunch a plenty of water on your walk.
