Refuge des Mottets to La Visaille via Col de La Seigne

If you have stayed in Les Chapieux you can either walk 5 km up the road or catch the local shuttle to La Ville des Glaciers, which will skip the approximately 1 hour long uphill hike on the road. 

 These maps and routes are designed to be used in conjunction with the TMB guidebook and IGN maps. 

Recommended Route: La Ville des Glaciers - Col de la Seigne - val Vény – Refugio Elisabetta –Visaille – bus to Courmayeur

Distance: 15 km

Duration: 5 – 5.5 hours

Ascent / Descent: 800 m / 790 m

Notes: The above distances are from La Ville des Glaciers. If you decide to walk from Les Chapieux instead of taking the shuttle bus add an extra 5km and 1 hour.

Transport: Shuttle bus from Les Chapieux to Les MottetsIf you are staying at Refuge des Mottets and prefer not to go over the Col des Fours then you should take the shuttle from les Chapieux to Mottets. The shuttle from Les Chapieux to Mottets operates from approx. beginning of July to end of August. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, specific timetables are not available.

Alternatively, Taxi Besson are now offering a shuttle service between Les Chapieux and Les Mottets, by reservation, call them the night before or ask your accommodation to do this. Places are limited and payment is directly to the driver:
