Today's walk starts with a short and easy section connecting Old Sodbury to Tormarton via Coombs End and Dodington Park Estate eventually leading you to the penultimate stretch of the Cotswold Way through farmland, woodland and meadows to the pretty village of Cold Ashton. From Cold Ashton, the Way takes you across fields and historic battlefields before descending into the Regency splendour of Bath and with that the end of your adventure!
Leaving Old Sodbury the Cotswold Way leads through fields to Coombs End. Here farmland gives way to the parkland of the Dodington Estate, originally designed by Capability Brown. Leaving the estate the path continues to the small village of Tormarton to the Interesting church of St Mary Magdalene. From Tormarton the route goes over the busy M4 motorway before veering off into the more peaceful countryside. The country lanes take you to the edge of Dyrham Park and past Hinton Hill with its ancient hill fort. Through the hamlet of Dryham and past the National Trust Dyrham House with its exquisite gardens, you finally arrive in the quiet village of Cold Ashton with its marvellous southerly aspect.
Leaving Cold Ashton the route crosses the A46 for the last time and heads along Greenway Lane before the ascent up onto Lansdown Hill. Crossing the Civil War battlefield to the Grenville Monument, the Cotswold Way heads out to the scarp edge at Hanging Hill and around Bath Race Course to Prospect Stile Viewpoint and fine vistas of your final destination. Now it’s downhill and through the suburbs, parks and historic streets of Bath to the finish at the Abbey.
Enjoy the final day of peace and tranquillity in the Cotswold countryside before the hustle and bustle of the tourist honeypot of Bath. Reflect on your personal achievement and savour the moment – it has been a long way from Chipping Campden. Be sure to also make the most of Bath's excellent choice of restaurants/cafes and pubs before you depart on your onward travel day.

The only hazard you will encounter today is traffic. The main roads you have to cross today can be extremely busy at peak times. Please exercise extreme care and only cross when the road is clear.
When walking around the Golf Course be alert for golfers playing their shots and always remember to give way if needed.
The Cotswold Way is well marked so navigation should be straightforward. Look out for the acorn signs which are the National Trail Markers.

Points of Interest
Please see the interactive map for notable points of interest along the walk, including recommended pubs/restaurants and cafe stops. Simply click the icons on the map for more information as you walk.
Food and Drink
There are limited facilities today until you reach Weston on the outskirts of Bath. There is a petrol station in Old Sodbury before you depart for supplies (closed on a Sunday) and then a couple of pubs in the Tormarton area (that are likely to be closed when you pass - check in advance if you plan to visit). Be sure to carry what you need for this final stretch. In Bath itself, you are back to the common comforts of everyday city living so there is plenty of options for food and drink and we've listed our favourites as points of interest on the map.
Packed lunch is recommended today as the pubs near the start of the walk are likely to be closed when you pass and there is nothing on offer until you reach Weston which is on the outskirts of Bath. You will arrive at Weston after around 27 kilometres worth of walking and so it's probably too late in the day for a Lunch stop.
Post Walk Drinks
The Raven or the Garrick's Head - Whilst there are plenty of options in Bath, The Raven and Garrick's Head are historic traditional pubs that are not too far from the end of the Cotswold Way.
A taxi is probably a better/cheaper alternative than public transport.
There are various ways to get to Bath by bus from Old Sodbury but it likely requires multiple connecting journeys - generally, it varies wildly depending on the time of day and a google search is probably the best option to check this at the time you wish to make this journey.
Please note that bus services may be affected by public bank holidays in the UK and in some cases may run a limited service or no service at all on weekends.
There are also useful websites to find when the next bus is due at www.traveline.info or simply have a quick google search.

Good comfortable boots or walking shoes are recommended. The ground can be quite soft and the paths are well used by walkers and riders. Whilst the terrain is not particularly difficult it can be muddy with some waterlogged stretches after heavy rain. Walking poles are an option if preferred. The British weather is changeable so waterproofs should also be carried just in case.
Ensure your phone is fully charged; if you doubt the battery will last throughout the hike/or if you have an older phone, it might be beneficial to bring a power bank as a backup.
There are limited opportunities on today's walk to buy food and drink until you reach the outskirts of Bath. Please ensure you bring enough snacks and fluids with you.
