The trail takes you out of Glenbeigh and onto an elevated path crossing over Rossbeigh Hill where you can enjoy spectacular views across Dingle Bay.
This scenic hill track continues onto the slopes of Drung Hill to follow an old coach road passing Foilmore and into the Ferta valley beside the wild Atlantic. Arrive in Cahersiveen on the banks of Valencia River, this is the principal town of the Skellig Kerry Peninsula.
Should you wish to shorten your walk to a more manageable walk of 20km by stopping in Foilmore, please contact your overnight accommodation for options.
There is a short steep climb out of Glenbeigh and a few prolonged, steady, ascents. Please take good care, especially in wet and windy conditions.
Much of this route follows country roads with no pavements so take good care. Although the roads and lanes can be quiet it's always best to walk on the right to face any oncoming traffic and make yourself as visible as possible.
There is a risk of ticks in the grass. Use insect repellent and check your body on arrival in Cahersiveen.

Food & Drink:
There is nowhere en route to buy food it's best to speak to your B&B host to arrange for a packed lunch to be made for you or buy it locally in Glenbeigh before setting off. Please give them plenty of notice to do this.
On arrival in Cahersiveen, there are many restaurants, bars & cafes to refuel after a long day on your feet.
Along with your usual gear for a day in the hills you should consider packing gaiters, poles, and an extra layer along with a solid good-quality pair of waterproof boots of course.
