El Cedro to Chipude
After a short transfer, begin your walk into the lush heart of the island, Garajonay National Park. The path winds uphill past the twisted trunks of bay laurel and heather, covered in ferns and lichens. You pass a small chapel hidden among the vegetation, before reaching the highest point on the island. On clear days, you’ll be treated to sweeping views over La Gomera, with La Palma, Hierro and the impressive summit of El Teide on Tenerifeoff in the distance.
From El Cedro follow the woodland track as it ascends gradually to the highest point on the island, then traverse a misty laurel wood in the National Park. During the descent, follow wide surfaced and unsurfaced tracks, before the final steep, stony section.
