This alternative route via Fenetre d'Arpette is spectacular, yet much more demanding and should not be attempted in poor weather conditions. For an easier route, please see seperate entry 'Champex to Trient via Alp Bovine'
This demanding variant goes via the spectacular Fenêtre d’Arpette to the Trient Valley. Climbing to 2665m it’s a challenging and exposed route but worth every step. You will then end the day by descending to the valley floor and the small village of Trient.
