A continuation of the easier path that you followed to Sneem, the route to Kenmare follows more forest paths and minor roads along the south coast of Kerry.
Along this route you will pass Dromore Castle, built in the 1830s before the Irish famine, then pass by the ruins of Cappanacush Castle from the 13th century. You'll have two scenic hills,of just 120m and 150m, to look forward to further on.
After descending from Gortamullin Hil and crossing the Finnihy River into Kenmare you may like to walk to the ancient 4,000 year old Reenagoppul stone circle, situated just 0.5km outside of the town centre. Kenmare is a pretty market town with a host of great pubs and restaurants.
