Dyrham Park
Mentioned in a document of AD 557 as a deer enclosure Dyrham Park covers 264 acres and has one of the oldest fallow deer herds in the country.
The house was built for William III’s secretary for war William Blathwayt in the 17th century replacing an older Tudor mansion. It has magnificent gardens featuring a water cascade over a series of 200 steps. The house is now in the ownership of the National Trust.
